To improve the possibility of reusing raw materials, it is important to dispose of packaging materials and goods correctly. Each country has its own waste disposal and recycling management system, so consumers must check with their local authority and, if applicable, their local waste disposal company to find out what disposal options or obligations apply to them.
Some countries provide information on correct disposal by using special disposal labels. The following labels can also be found on our wallpapers:
Triman logo
The Triman logo is a French labelling system used to display information to consumers. The pictogram is a visual signal for consumers, informing them that the product and its packaging must be disposed of separately so that both can be recycled. In addition to the Triman logo, manufacturers, importers and retailers must include additional information on correct disposal so that consumers can separate and dispose of the product and its packaging correctly. The correct disposal of packaging in households supports an effective circular economy.
The Triman logo consists of three parts:
• The person represents the responsible consumer,
• Three arrows in the centre represent disposal and collection for better recycling of waste.
• A thinner arrow in the background symbolises recycling.
TRIMAN sorting mark (PMCB)
The TRIMAN sorting symbol, which is affixed to the product, its packaging or in the accompanying documentation, means that it is subject to a sorting instruction and must therefore not be thrown into the normal waste bin. It is intended to inform the consumer how to sort the product in order to dispose of it.
These two sorting marks apply to building products and building materials:
The Triman logo (above) stands for:
• The human silhouette is a reminder of the central position of the consumer in this system.
• The three arrows stand for sorting, which enables better waste treatment.
• The circular arrow stands for recycling.
The sorting information informs you of the correct steps to take to dispose of your product.
You should sort it by waste type and then send it for reuse or recycling as quickly as possible. Depending on the product, you can go to an association, a landfill site, a dealer or an inert material landfill.
To find out where your product can be collected when it becomes waste, you can search for your geo-location on quefairedemesdechets.ademe.fr. This website contains a search engine that allows you to find a collection centre for each type of waste.
