WALLPAPER ADVICE

Wall areas

Please refer also to these instructions for papering walls:

Tools: Spirit level

As was the case with the ceiling, also with rising walls one needs a spirit level to vertically mark the position of the first length, to ensure that subsequent lengths will be straight.

The first length to be hung is placed at ceiling level allowing sufficient excess for trimming and pasted to the wall following the previously marked vertical line. The non-woven wall covering is now rolled over with a foam rubber roller to smooth out any air bubbles and wrinkles.

Tools: Pasting machine, lamb's wool roller or pasting brush

When using pasting machines please bear in mind that only machine-applicable branded pastes with the "TG" addition may be used. This ensures the optimum distribution of the paste and that the lengths will easily pass through the machine. Thoroughly apply the paste to the lengths of non-woven wall covering, do not leave to soak.

Tools: foam rubber roller

Align and glue the non-woven strips edge to edge to the wall and use a foam rubber roller to roll over the strip from side to side to smooth out any air bubbles and wrinkles.

Tools: Plastic spatula, utility knife

For the area where wall and ceiling join  and where the wall and the floor join, the excess non-woven wall covering is to be pressed into the angular space between wall and ceiling with the plastic spatula and then cleanly cut.
